Reflection of 24.05.2008
RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts in a standardized format.[2] An RSS document (which is called a "feed" or "web feed"[3] or "channel") contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with web sites in an automated manner that can be piped into special programs or filtered displays.
A podcast is a series of digital-media files which are distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on portable media players and computers. The term podcast, like broadcast, can refer either to the series of content itself or to the method by which it is syndicated.
A mashup is a web application that combines data from more than one source into a single integrated tool; an example is the use of cartographic data from Google Maps to add location information to real-estate data, thereby creating a new and distinct web service that was not originally provided by either source.

Review of WEB 2.0 site
What is facebook?
Facebook users can choose to join one or more networks, organized by city, workplace, school, and region. These networks help users connect with members of the same network. Users can also connect with friends, giving them access to their friends' profiles.
The website is free to users, but generates revenue from advertising. Users create profiles that often contain photos and lists of personal interests, exchange private or public messages, and join groups of friends. The viewing of detailed profile data is restricted to users from the same network or confirmed friends.
The features of Facebook
The media often compares Facebook to MySpace, but one significant difference between the two websites is the level of customization. Some of the features of Facebook are listed below:
Main features | Functions |
Wall | A space on every user's profile page that allows friends to post messages for the user to see. |
Pokes | It allows users to send a virtual "poke" to each other. |
Photos | Users can upload albums and photos |
Status | It allows users to inform their friends of their whereabouts and actions. |
Marketplaces | It allowing users to post free classified ads. |
Video | letting users share homemade videos with one another. |
To stay safe when using the site, the Facebook safety page gives these tips:
• Never share your password with anyone.
• Adjust your settings to match your level of comfort.
• Be cautious about posting and sharing personal information.
• Report users and content that violate the Terms of Use at privacy@facebook.com.
• Block and report anyone that sends you unwanted or inappropriate communications.

The reflection of the 3rd lesson
Social bookmarking
We already use Bookmarks or Favorites in our personal browsers to save Web sites that we use frequently in class or at home. But, what if you've saved a site on our home computers and want to find that Web site while we're at school? The typical bookmark/favorite system doesn't work for these scenarios. Social bookmarking can help us in this case. That technique uses a Web-based service instead of your browser to save and organize bookmarks. Instead of individually saving the site in a variety of folders, you just type a few keywords called tags, and your sites are organized automatically with sites saved by other users, using those same keywords. For users, social bookmarking can be useful as a way to access a consolidated set of bookmarks from various computers, organize large numbers of bookmarks, and share bookmarks with contacts. For us, we can share our bookmark sites to our students and colleagues easily even we are not using our personal computers.

Our del.icio.us
To use del.icio.us, we need to install two buttons into our browser.
There are two important buttons which are “Your Favorites” and “Tag This Page”.
For “Your Favorites” , we can just click this button to get to our saved pages, which are always available at: http://del.icio.us/winniekit
For “Tag This Page”, as we browse the web and find a page we want to save, click this button. We can add a description, notes, and tags to the page before saving it.
And we can save a page directly from the right-click menu.

The reflection of the 2nd lesson
With the above advantages of blog, we do believe blog is favorable for teaching and learning. For example, students can publish their reflection after lessons in the blogs. They can also use blog as a discussion platform for doing group projects. On the other hands, teachers can know the students what they learn with their reflection and also they can be the consultants of their group projects after reading their messages leaving in the discussion platform.
To be the updated teachers, I think we should start to use blog as a teaching tool now!

Our first reflection on Web 2.0

YouTube: Users can upload the videos and view the video there.
Facebook: It's platform for users to share, play games and communicate.
